Playwright and Director of Wine Country
David Usner moved to
San Francisco from Philadelphia three years ago. David, coming
from a strong background and study of acting, started writing plays
in 1992 to satiate his poetic urgings. He has acted internationally
and in the Philadelphia area appearing in an
American Opera Projects
world premier of Anthony Minghella's
Cigarettes and
Chocolate, presented in NYC, Stukke Theater of Berlin and the
Ensemble Theater in
Vienna. David, also, performed in Three
Postcards at the Edinburgh Fringe
Festival. His film credits include

Charlie Putz and I
Was on Mars and he was the principal role in an episode of TV's
Medical Detectives. His latest local work have been in Viaticum in Berkeley and A Moon for the Misbegotten with Hapgood Theatre. As a playwright, a staged-reading of his play, Junkyard, was produced by the American Opera Projects for the NYC Downtown Arts Festival. Three other plays, The Lie, Risk and Wine Country were produced at the Brick Playhouse (Philadelphia). He is currently the President of the Board of Trustees of the Playwrights Foundation (San Francisco) and a member of Dramatists Guild of America.
David co-founded Blue Window Theatre Ensemble in 1992 and Invisible Cities in 2000. He has also directed and produced various shows in Philadelphia. He was the principal producer of the Healing Arts Coalition show Acts of Kindness in 2001 and co-produced Invisible
Cities' Girl Detective.
